Two teams of Grade 3 students watch as their programmable robots go head-to-head within a defined space, during a visit by the EYES team from the University of Regina on Friday morning to Assiniboia Park School. The robots could be programmed by scanning them over a bar code to do certain actions, in this case to stay within the boundaries of this mat, and to fight ahead if it meets another robot. EYES, or Educating Youth in Engineering and Science, is a university program designed to encourage young children to be interested in the sciences and have fun learning.
