College launches contest to collect food

Southeast College is collecting donations at all of its campus locations starting November 28th and ending December 15th. The food drive is part of an inter campus competition that was spearheaded by the Weyburn Campus staff and students.

Southeast College is collecting donations at all of its campus locations starting November 28th and ending December 15th. The food drive is part of an inter campus competition that was spearheaded by the Weyburn Campus staff and students.“As part of our commitment to enhancing our student experience at Southeast College, we have been encouraging our staff and students to participate in various activities around our campus locations,” stated Sheena Onrait, Manager of Marking and Communications for Southeast College. “The Food Bank Drive is one that our staff and students feel is critical especially with the Christmas season quickly approaching.”Collection bins will be placed in all of our campus locations including Weyburn, Estevan, Assiniboia, Moosomin, Whitewood and Indian Head. Staff, students and the public are encouraged to drop off donations at these locations up until December 15th when all donations will be weighed and a winning campus will be announced.“We are members of the communities that we serve and we recognize that food bank usage traditionally increases in the Christmas season,” said Dion McGrath, President and CEO of Southeast College. “We encourage other businesses and groups to join in with us to help to meet the needs of the people in Southeast Saskatchewan.”
