The Weyburn Comprehensive’s Entrepreneurship 30 will have three Junior Achievement companies this year, including Forevergreen, Balanced Jewelry and Coast2Coast.

Two of the three held their first board meetings last week, and the third one will have their first meeting on Thursday, April 19.

Forevergreen has eight dedicated members in their company, including president Keyanna Swanson, along with Katelyn Franklin, Denae Neufeld, Olivia Barber, Jillian Harder, Oksana van Staveren, Olivia Skjerdal and Breane McCormick.

Forevergreen will hand-make and paint cement planters. There are two sizes available: a large, which is 10 cm wide and 10 cm tall, and a small, which is 10 cm wide and 4.5 cm tall. The large is $10 and the small is $5, and for an extra $5, a plant can be added to either the large or the small.

There are three different colours (blue, black, and gold) and three different designs (top fill, bottom fill, and diagonal).

The company will be donating 10 per cent of their proceeds to the Family Place, because they believe in shaping young minds and encouraging them to be environmentally friendly.

They have a sponsor, JVM farms, which donated $100 to help with their initial startup costs.

Balanced Jewelry has eight students in their membership, including Eric Olson, Ethan Dubasov, Ben Hiltz, Cherrilyn Kwochka, Mary Beach, Tylan Charlton, Emily Bedore and Sydney Hadley.

This company will create, assemble and sell jewelry, such as necklaces and chains for both guys and girls. The necklaces include pendant, silver chains and cording, and can be made in varying lengths, with the ultimate goal of raising awareness of mental health issues.

The lariat design sells for $15, a black corded choker for girls is $10, a girls silver choker with pendant is $10, and it’s $10 for both the men’s gold and silver chains.

The company will donate 10 per cent of their profits to the Canadian Mental Health Association in Weyburn.
