Environment Canada has issued a weather alert for Weyburn, Radville, Milestone and Estevan on Friday.

They advise that active winter weather will continue into the weekend.
A low pressure system will develop early on Saturday morning in southern Alberta and it will track eastward into southern Saskatchewan; there is some uncertainty as to the exact path of this system, but there is potential for freezing rain, significant snowfall and blowing snow as the low crosses the province beginning Saturday morning.

Snowfalls of 10-15 cm are possible in the northern grain belt, and further south, temperatures will be slightly warmer bring a mix of precipitation.

There is potential for freezing rain followed by rain showers and snow later in the day as temperatures hover within a few degrees of freezing.

As the low continues to move east and deepen late Saturday into Sunday, visibility will be reduced with snow and blowing snow as northwesterly winds gust to 60 km an hour.

On Sunday skies will clear from west to east as cold Arctic air once again settles into the province.

The public is advised to monitor weather forecasts through the weekend for updates and warnings as required.
