Many of the members of the 1996 Western Canadian champion squad of the Weyburn Indians gather following the opening ceremonies for the Western Canadian Junior AAA Championships at Tom Laing Park on Friday evening. Team coach Loni Hoium threw out the ceremonial first pitch for the game, which saw the host Weyburn PAR Contracting Athletics take on the Brandon Marlins in their second game of the championships. The championships will wrap up with the gold medal game on Sunday afternoon, and the winner will play in the national Junior AAA championships.
