Weyburn Scouts to hold ‘Jail-Bail’ fundraiser

The 5th Weyburn Scouts have partnered with the Salvation Army and will be raising money for their Red Shield Appeal, as well as for the annual kettle campaign, in addition to adopting as many families as they possibly can.

To enable these projects to be funded, the Scouts will hold a “Jail-and-Bail” fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the City Centre Mall.

Those who are to be arrested have been issued a citation order, a summons to appear before the “court” in session at the City Centre Mall; if the arrestee has not raised enough bail, they will held in custody at the jail set up in the mall until they are able to raise the funds.

All parties will be release upon payment of the bail, or will be released on parole at the end of the afternoon.

While this “court” is in session, the Scouts will also be holding a craft and bake sale.

All of the proceeds of this fundraising event will go towards helping the Salvation Army provide a full Christmas dinner and gifts to a family who is in need.
