City police charge drivers impaired by marijuana

City police conducted a traffic stop at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday. As a result of the stop, the male driver was suspected of driving under the influence of marijuana. A Standard Field Sobriety Test was conducted which resulted in the driver receiving a 60-day licence suspension and having his vehicle impounded for three days.

City police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at about 3:20 pm. on Sunday. The driver was suspected of being under the influence of a drug and a Drug Recognition Expert test was conducted. The driver was charged with possession of marijuana and had his licence suspended and vehicle impounded.

Weyburn police were called to a report of a domestic disturbance at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, where an adult male had attempted to harm himself and had barricaded himself within the residence. Police were able to negotiate with the male and were able to take him to the hospital for assessment and treatment without further incident.

Members of the Weyburn police conducted a compliance check on a court-ordered curfew condition on March 12. As a result, an adult male has been charged with failing to comply with the order.

Weyburn police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old woman at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As a result of the stop, it was determined that the driver was suspended and that the vehicle was also unregistered.

City police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle being driven by a 47-year-old man at about 2:15 a.m. on Sunday. As a result of the stop, a breath test was administered. A three-day licence suspension was issued and the vehicle was impounded for three days.

Weyburn police responded to a domestic disturbance involving siblings on Sunday. As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old male was charged with assault causing bodily harm, and will be making a court appearance.
