Police investigating historical sexual assaults

The Weyburn Police Service are currently investigating a number of historical sexual assaults. These matters are still under investigation and review to determine if the suspect was 12 years old or older at the times of the alleged offences.

The Weyburn Police Service are currently investigating a number of historical sexual assaults. These matters are still under investigation and review to determine if the suspect was 12 years old or older at the times of the alleged offences.
In a matter loosely related to the above incident, the police charged a 46-year-old male on August 10 with one charge of sexual assault from a dated occurrence. The accused will be making a court appearance in the future.
Police were dispatched to a residence on August 8, at about 12:10 a.m., regarding a 28-year-old male damaging property. As a result a 28-year-old male was taken into custody without incident.  He is now facing a charge of assault and a charge of mischief.  Alcohol was a contributing factor.
Also on August 8, at about 11 p.m., the police handled a call regarding a female in distress. Upon patrolling the area they found a 17-year-old male and female having a verbal disagreement. The matter was mediated.
Police were contacted on August 10 to keep the peace while a tenant was evicted.
The police were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle collision with private property on August 12. As a result of the investigation a 34-year-old female has been charged with driving with undue care and attention.
The police received a report of a large dog attacking a smaller dog while both animals were being walked on August 12. The police wish to remind dog owners that they are responsible for controlling their animals when out in public and can face both bylaw and criminal charges should the circumstances dictate if another animal or person becomes injured. The smaller dog was treated at the vet’s.
The Weyburn Police investigated a report of a break and enter to the washrooms in Jubilee Park on August 13.
