Police seek info on car in sex assault

The Weyburn Police Service received more information in relation to the reported aggravated sexual assault incident of a 16-year-old girl on Nov. 6.

As a result of their investigation, police have been made aware of a vehicle which was seen leaving the parking lot just after the incident.
The assault occurred in the parking lot of the 10 block Second Street, just north of the Royal Hotel, around 9 p.m.

The vehicle is described as a dark blue or black newer-model two-door sports car.

Police said this vehicle is of interest to the investigation, and the police are seeking to identify the vehicle and/or the driver, which may or may not be related to the incident.

In the assault, the victim was approached by a male, described as younger in age, wearing dark pants and clothing. The suspect attacked the victim, striking her on the head with a blunt object while forcing her into the back seat of her own vehicle.

The victim was able to fight off the attacker, and escaped on foot to the police station.

The victim was treated in hospital and later released to the safety of her family.
