The Weyburn police are investigating a report of an on-line banking fraud, reported on Thursday. The police wish to remind everyone that no banking business should be carried out on-line or via email unless you are perfectly certain of who you are providing the information to.
In an update on the stabbing from last week, the Weyburn police are still actively investigating the early morning altercation that left one male person transported to the local hospital with non life-threatening stab injuries.

City police are investigating a report of a hit-and-run vehicle collision on Coteau Avenue on Friday. The victim’s vehicle was sideswiped on the right side. Police are looking for a grey-coloured SUV driven by a female aged 30-40 years old with shoulder-length blonde hair.

City police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Coteau Avenue and Third Street between a 45-year-old woman and an 85-year-old woman at about 4 p.m. on Thursday. The matter is still under investigation.
City police received a report of a man who was laying in front of an apartment building at about 11:31 a.m. on Wednesday. While dealing with the male, he provided a name and identification which was eventually determined to be false. As a result the 26-year-old male from Edmonton was later arrested and has been charged with obstruction and breach of a court order. He was released from custody pending a court appearance.
Weyburn police received a report of a suspicious person who was apparently sleeping in a vehicle in a parking lot on Thursday. Subsequent investigation resulted in a 73-year-old male being arrested and charged with failing to provide a roadside breath sample.
The Weyburn police received a complaint about a male who appeared to be passed out at about 6:35 p.m. on Friday. A 54-year-old male was taken into custody for being intoxicated in public and has also been charged with breaching a court order.
As the result of a traffic stop at about 11:20 p.m. on Friday, a 48-year-old male was charged with impaired driving.
City police received a call to a residence regarding an unwanted male guest at about 10:40 a.m. on Saturday. Prior to their arrival the person had left. Subsequent investigation later saw the 24-year-old male located and arrested. He has been charged with uttering threats and breach of a court order.
The Weyburn police attended to a residence regarding an allegation of threats having been made to young children on Saturday evening. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old male was arrested at the scene without incident and is now facing a charge of uttering a threat. That same male is also facing a charge of using a stolen credit card.
City police received a report of a youth having been inappropriately touched by an adult on Saturday. As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old male is facing a charge of sexual assault. This matter is believed to be an isolated incident where the parties were known to each other.
Responding to a call of a person driving a quad erratically within city limits on Sunday, a 38-year-old male was located. During attempting to deal with him for this incident, he became belligerent and violent and was arrested for uttering threats. He has been remanded in custody pending a court appearance.
There were several reports of the age-old game “knock on ginger” received this past week. While it is a very old game, it can also constitute the criminal offence of mischief should the homeowner wish to lodge a formal complaint. Please be aware that your seemingly innocent actions may be against the law.
There were also numerous complaints received about unlocked vehicles being rummaged through. Once again police can only stress that all vehicles should be locked when left unattended.
The city police wish to remind dog owners that unless you are in the off-leash park, all dogs are required to be leashed when out in public.
Motorists are once again reminded that the speed limits in school zones is now 30 km/h. Signs are continuing to be erected.
