OBITUARIES


Ralph Struble

On Sunday, March 28, 1999, Ralph Struble, late of Weyburn, passed away at the age of 83 years. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Adeline Struble; his wife, Rose Struble; daughter, Pauline Struble; sisters: Anny Hutt and Margaret Shauf; brother, Joe Struble; and son-in-law, Tommy Supple. Ralph leaves to mourn his three sons: Donald (May) Struble of Weyburn; Dennis (Marlene) Struble of Estevan; and Richard (Ellen) Struble of Saskatoon; four daughters: Lorraine Supple of Estevan; Edith (Mike) Erhardt of Steelman; Yvonne (Ed) Garton of Estevan; and Maryann (August) Hochstein of Estevan; one sister, Phyllis Shauf of Estevan; two brothers: Frank Struble of Assiniboia; and John (Margaret) Struble of Estevan; he also leaves 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was born November 27, 1915 at Sec. 7, Tp1, Range 13 W2nd. He lived in the Bromhead-Tribune area and loved the farm. After retiring he moved to Weyburn and spent time with his family, grandchildren and many friends around town. Ralph then became a resident of Weyburn Special Care Home, where he lived at the time of his passing. Prayers were said Tuesday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. from Hastings-Dionne Funeral Home, Weyburn, with Mary Ann Seitz presiding. The funeral mass was held Wednesday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn with Father Francis Hengen celebrant. Interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. All those in attendance were considered to be honorary pallbearers. The active pallbearers were: Dennis Struble, Glen Hochstein, Dallas Struble, Bobby Koller, Darrell Garton, Robert Struble and Jessie Koller. Those wishing to express their sympathy may donate to the Canadian Diabetes Association, in his memory. Arrangements were in care of Hastings-Dionne Funeral Home Inc., Weyburn.


Walter Melvin Norman

On Sunday, March 28, 1999 Walter Melvin Norman, late of Radville, passed away at the age of 91 years. Walter was born July 8, 1907 at Kerkhoven, Minnesota, USA. Predeceased by his parents, John and Christie Norman; three brothers: Albert, George and Leonard Norman; and five sisters: Mabel, Ella, Emma, Blanche and Lille. Walter leaves to mourn numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held Thursday, April 1 at 1:00 p.m. from Gladmar Lutheran Church, Gladmar with Pastor Martin Olson officiating. Interment will be at a later date. All those in attendance were considered to be honorary pallbearers. Those wishing to express their sympathy may donate to a charity of the donor's choice in his memory. Arrangements were in care of Hastings-Dionne Funeral Home Inc., Weyburn.


Margaret Pringle

The funeral service for the late Margaret Pringle, Fillmore, was held in Fillmore United Church on Monday, March 29, 1999 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Burke officiating. Margaret was born in Hardieville, AB on August 24, 1909 and died Friday, March 26, 1999. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Catherine Johnston; her husband, John; two brothers, Tom and George; two sisters, Jean and Janet (Gosselin) and is survived by her son, Darwin (Carol), Victoria, BC; her daughter Sheaunid (Dale) Wiggins, Fillmore; eight grandchildren: Warren (Vernna), Kevin (Debbie), Jody and Todd Wiggins; Jim (Joanne Oatman) Pringle, Vicki (Bill) Simons, Jacki Kirkwood, and Jolene Pringle; one honorary grandson, Scottie Smith; nine great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katie McCartney, Edmonton; Bill and Kay Pringle, Port Hardy, BC; Margaret Pringle, Chilliwack, BC; Ruth Krisko, Regina; Edna and Al Roy, Toronto; as well as her nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers were Warren, Kevin, Jody, Todd Wiggins, Scottie Smith, Bob Pringle. Following committal in Fillmore cemetery, lunch was served in the Fillmore Hall, followed by a family supper in the United Church.
