Marvin Larsen
 
It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Marvin Larsen, of Weyburn, on July 1, 1999 at the age of 68 years. Predeceased by his father, Theodore Larsen; father-in-law Stanley Skjonsby; a brother in infancy; one sister-in-law, Marion Skjonsby; and his special uncle, Floyd Deal. Marvin leaves to mourn, his loving wife, Mabel Larsen; his mother, Lillian Larsen; his mother-in-law Aurilla Skjonsby; one son, Dale and Kathy Larsen; one daughter, Debbie and Don Sanders; his five grandsons: Chad, Travis and Kayd Larsen, Morgan and Mackenze Sanders; his step-grandchildren: Lisa, Nicole and Matt Sanders; his two brothers: Kenneth and Jenny Larsen and Duane and Delores Larsen; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Merlin and Ann Skjonsby, Wilfred and Maryann Skjonsby, Darlene and Dalt Lafoy, Darrell and Vicki Skjonsby; and special uncle and aunt: Norman Larsen and Lill Densley; also many nieces and nephews, cousins and their families. Marvin Darrel Larsen was born and raised on the farm at Ratcliffe, SK. He attended Norgy Country School with his brothers until it closed, then he went to Ratcliffe School. On May 3, 1957, Marvin married Mabel Skjonsby in Weyburn. They lived in Goodwater and Lampman in their early years, then Ratcliffe before moving to Weyburn. Marvin enjoyed many sports: golf, pool, curling and bowling. He liked to play cards and watch ball games. He loved visiting with people and enjoyed travelling. Marvin was a member of the Elks Club and the Wheatland Senior Centre in Weyburn. He was especially touched by the attendance of many family and friends at his surprise 65th birthday party. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed. Funeral service was held Monday, July 5 at 2:00 p.m. from the Free Methodist Church, Weyburn with Pastor Wade Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn. Honorary pallbearers were: Carl Von Hagen, Harvey Oudot, Doug Marshall, Fred Fisher, George McLeod, Rainey Grams, Gale Miller and Jim Burge. The active pallbearers were: Dale Larsen, Don Sanders, Randy Larsen, Ken Skjonsby, Darren Skjonsby and Jerry Lafoy. Those wishing to express their sympathy may donate to the A.L.S. Society of Saskatchewan, Box 31028, Normanview Mall, Regina, SK S4R 8R6, in his memory. Arrangements were in care of Hastings-Dionne Funeral Home Inc., Weyburn.

John Keith "Jack" Robins
 
John Keith "Jack" Robins, born in Weyburn, SK Nov. 7, 1918, passed away quietly on July 6, 1999 at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. Jack leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Peggy, his beloved son John and his wife Kelly of Lions Bay. Jack leaves to cherish his memory three grandchildren: Spencer Ellen, Jordyn Michelle and John "Chase" Robins. He also leaves two sisters, Peggy Demosky of Chase, BC, Marilyn Muir of Cayley, AB and his brother Doug of Medicine Hat, AB, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Raised in Griffin, SK Jack developed a love for the outdoors that was to stay with him his entire life. In 1939 he moved with his family to Calgary where he studied electronics at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. At 23, Jack joined the RCAF and served overseas as a radar officer until the end of the war in 1945. Upon his return Jack joined the Alberta Forest Service as a District Ranger in Rocky Mountain House, where he met Margaret "Peggy" Edwards who was to become his wife and companion for the rest of his life. A few years later he transferred to the Federal Dept. of Forestry where he held the position of Chief Ranger at the Northern Forest Research Center in Edmonton until his retirement in 1975. Jack and his family relocated to Chase shortly after his retirement where they have resided for the past 24 years. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and his love of nature was an inspiration to all those he touched. He was a loving husband, a devoted father and a good friend. Jack was a gifted man whose talents seemed to have few boundaries, he was a very special person and enjoyed life to its fullest. A kind and gentle man, he will be greatly missed by all who have known him. A memorial service was held on Monday, July 12 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Andrews United Church in Chase. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation in Kamloops in Jack's memory.

John Melvin Tytlandsvik
 
On Friday, July 2, 1999 John Melvin Tytlandsvik, late of Weyburn, passed away at the age of 72 years. Predeceased by his parents: Ole and Olina Tytlandsvik; four brothers: Ludven, Elmer, Lloyd and Melvin; and one sister, Borgel Galavan. John is survived by his loving wife, Laural (Molly) Tytlandsvik of Weyburn; his children: Laurie (Darwin) Raes of Fir Mountain, SK; Gaylene (Mike) Rosebluff of Wetaskiwin, AB; Dale Tytlandsvik of Fillmore; Joan (Chuck) Rogers of Weyburn; Kathy (Gene) Cugnet of Weyburn; and Peggy (Warren) Gaab of Weyburn; 22 grandchildren; one great grandson; four brothers: George (Winnie); Bert (Jean); Chester (Beryl); and Walter (Lorraine); and four sisters: Grace Williams; Stella Swedburg, Jen (Dave) Smith; and Anne (Rudy) Grams; brother-in-law, William Evernden; sisters-in-law: Marvelous Tytlandsvik; Wilma Tytlandsvik; Muriel Bakken; Shirley (Red) Robillard; and Lynn Evernden; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was born October 1, 1926 on the family farm at Maxim, SK. He attended Temple School until he quit to farm. He also had various jobs, fencing crew for the P.F.R.A., lineman for Tribune Northwest Rural Telephone Co., and the Weyburn Livestock Exchange. He also did some carpentry, vet work and gardening. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing dominoes, and reading. He coached girls softball when they were little, and when they grew up he coached them again. He also umpired many softball and baseball games. In the mid 80's he started growing a large market garden, and attended the Weyburn Farmer's Market until his health would no longer allow him to garden. John and Molly moved to Weyburn in September of 1995, after spending many winters in town, and summers on the farm. He lived a good life, surrounded by family and friends, especially enjoyed his time with his children and grandchildren. Funeral service was held Tuesday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. from the Free Methodist Church, Weyburn, with Pastor Wade Fitzpatrick officiating. Interment followed in Maxim Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Fred Fisher, Larry Tytlandsvik, Brian Tytlandsvik, Morris Tytlandsvik, Rod Swedburg and Pat Doud. Those wishing to express their sympathy may donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Saskatchewan Lung Association, in his memory. Arrangements were in care of Hastings-Dionne Funeral Home Inc., Weyburn.

(Tootie) Violet Mae Milne
 
On Monday, July 5, 1999 (Tootie) Violet Mae Milne passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years in Beautiful Plains Villa, Yellow Grass, SK. She is survived by her loving family of five: Geo (Cathy) Bartlett of Victoria, BC; Jean (Morley) Hodgins of Edmonton, AB; Willard (Betty) Bartlett of Calgary, AB; Hartley (Doris) Bartlett of Regina; and Garnet (Shirley) Bartlett of Yellow Grass; three sisters: Olive (Tom) Cockram of Yellow Grass; Ruth (Herb) Wilke of Yellow Grass; and Phil Muir of Kelowna, BC; two sisters-in-law: Jessie (Artie) Bakke of Weyburn; and Ida Bartlett of Regina; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tootie was predeceased by her first husband, Alex Bartlett; her second husband, Howie Milne; one sister Helen; and grandsons Blair Irvine and Cory Bartlett. Funeral service was held Thursday, July 8 at 2:00 p.m. from Yellow Grass United Church with Rev. Lynda Harrison officiating. Interment followed in Yellow Grass Cemetery. All those in attendance were considered to be honorary pallbearers. The active pallbearers were: Gary Irvine, Allen Bartlett, John Bartlett, Ronnie Irvine, Brent Bartlett and Joel Bartlett. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may donate to Beautiful Plains Villa, Yellow Grass, or to the Yellow Grass United Church Memorial Fund, in her memory. Arrangements were in care of Hastings-Dionne Funeral Home Inc., Weyburn.

Harold George Farr
 
Harold George Farr, 1939-1999, Courtney, BC, passed away June 23, 1999 at the age of 60 years. Harold is survived by his loving wife Eileen, daughter Terry Magensen, Cindy (Ron Deptuck), Penny (Reid Robertson) all of Courtney; son Jerry (Ilona) Farr of Tahsis, BC; eight grandchildren Rob, Brandon and Jared Magensen, Kristie and Kody Deptuck, Alyssa Robertson, and Chad and Aaron Farr; brother Glenn (Berva) Farr of Lewvan, SK. Harold was predeceased by his father Charles Henry in 1940, his mother Eva Jane Farr in 1947 and one grandson Tyler Robertson.
