The following is a poem that was written by Ina Rolfs, 'What is Beauty.'
Beauty is in the seed so small
That when planted in the soil
Springs forth in all its glory
The fairest flower of all.
With delicate colors and perfume rare
These are God's reward with a little care.
Of a Mother and Dad have now grown old
And the lives in their faces
Have a story untold.
Of the work and the worry of raising their young
And how strong they stand by
When our hearts have been wrung
By sickness and heartbreak and the angel of death
With a strong silent hand clasp and faith unsurpassed
They patiently help us to meet the big test.
Yes, to me there is beauty in all of these things
Of the croaking of frogs and birds in the wing.
To sit under the stars and be able to pray
For God to watch o'er us by night and by day.
And help us to bear patiently whatever may come
And hold onto our hand until
We are called home.
