three years. She then taught at Gibson Creek, following by Blooming.
Clarice Hurlburt met and married John Mooney on June 30, 1937.
They lived at Brooking for the next six years, followed by moving
to Spring Valley in June 1943, where John became section foreman
on the CNR. They moved to Goodwater in January 1945, where they
lived for 8-1/2 years. In October 1953 they moved to Radville.
Following an Asiatic flu epidemic, her husband John died of viral

Having been away from the teaching profession for 20 years, she
took a six week 'refresher course' in Regina in the summer of
1958. The following year she taught at Brooking, grades 1-8,
after which the school closed. She taught thereafter in Radville,
teaching grade one, where she taught until she retired in 1974.

in Radville January to June of 1976. She loved teaching and had
many fond stories to tell. Clarice was a very dedicated, hard-working
lady. She raised six children, cared for five foster children,
raised huge gardens, including canning, and still made time to
do her hobbies of curling, shellwork pictures, made plaster of
paris plaques, knitted, crocheted, did beautiful embroidery work
and sewed nearly all of her children's clothing, including costumes.
In her retirement years, she took painting lessons and painted
beautiful scenes. She especially loved quilting and made prize-winning
quilts for her children and grandchildren. Also in retirement,
she and her friend of 70 plus years, Lillian Torkelson, travelled
the globe. Clarice dedicated her life to God as a teenager. She
taught her children to love and obey the Lord. By the work of
her own hands, she sent each of her six children to Radville/Western
Christian College for four years each. Clarice was a member of
the Queen Sheba Rebekah Lodge #32, the Retired Teacher's Superannuation
Assoc., she enjoyed playing shuffleboard and quilting at the
Senior Citizen's Club in Radville. She was the secretary-treasurer
of the Radville Church of Christ for many years. Clarice moved
to an apartment in Weyburn in August 1995 so she would be closer
to some of her children. Due to her failing health, she moved
