They had a cottage at White Bear Lake where they spent many summers enjoying the outdoors. They enjoyed their frequent trips to Edmonton to see their children and grandchildren, as well as traveling to the Maritimes, British Columbia, Hawaii and trips to the States. However, to them there was no place like home, where canning, prepared by loving hands, lined the shelves and the smell of homemade bread greeted you at the door.
