playing a good game of checkers. The following tribute was written
by his daughter, Joanne:
DAD
From Swan River Valley he came we know,
and settled in Weyburn more than forty years ago
he worked hard at many jobs like - on the rigs
and driving trucks, or selling cars or fruit
to make a few extra bucks.
He was always thinking of a way you see,
to build a better way of life for his family.
A helping hand he would always lend
whether fixing a car - or a bicycle to mend.
He loved to travel the country he drove many a mile
just mention Mexico and he'd really smile.
He would open his door, everyone was the same,
"Come on in, have a coffee" and oh yeah - how about
a checker game?
He loved simple things, and had strength beyond measure,
and all of his grandchildren he did especially treasure.
These few simple lines of the memories we had
of a wonderful loving man we called OUR DAD.
