George Deitz

On Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, George Deitz, late of Weyburn, passed away at the Regina General Hospital, at the age of 70 years. Predeceased by his father, Kasper, and mother, Agatha Deitz; sisters: Barbara and Rose; brother, Anton J. Deitz; and by one son, Phillip G. Deitz. George is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Adeline, of Weyburn; son, Garth (Nadine) Deitz of Estevan; daughter, Brenda (William) Kraft of Saskatoon; daughter-in-law, Catherine Deitz of Saskatoon; grandson, Christopher of Estevan; granddaughters: Michelle of Saskatoon, and Kirsten and Kyla of Estevan; sister, Ann Beisick of Regina; brothers: Steve Deitz of Winnipeg, Leo and Phillip Deitz of Leduc; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. George was born in Chamberlain, SK on Oct. 8, 1930. He married Adeline Richards on June 17, 1950, and to their union three children were born. He worked for the CN Railway for 38 years, and they lived in many different communities. In 1969 they moved to Weyburn, where they have resided ever since. George was a member of the Elks for many years, having served as Exalted Ruler in 1979. He was active with the Canadian Diabetic Association since 1985. George enjoyed fishing, RVing and golfing. He loved his grandchildren and looking forward to spending time with them. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 23 at 2:00 p.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, with Rev. John Ferrier officiating. Interment followed in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn. All those in attendance were considered to be honorary pallbearers. The active pallbearers were: Rodney Richards, Danny Richards, Wade Richards, Robert Hepburn, Ken Deitz and Mark Deitz. Dorothy Viola (King) Wanamaker

Dorothy Viola (King) Wanamaker was born at Kinghurst, Ontario on August 18, 1915. She was left to join her husband, Gordon, and other family members in the kingdom of happiness. Dorothy left on her journey October 17, 2000. Dorothy will be greatly missed by her daughter, Joyce Laraine Bloor and husband, Bruce; her pride and joy, all her grandchildren: Theresa Johnston, husband Doug in Whitehorse, Yukon; Leonard Francis, wife Lisa in Calgary, AB; Gordon Francis, wife Evette in Kelowna, BC; Judith Gehring and husband Dale in Medicine Hat, AB. Dorothy leaves behind her great grandchildren that she treasured so much, Ashley, Jordan, Kaitlyn, Mathew, Jessica, Jeremy, Brittney and Dalton. Dorothy will see her parents, Arthur and Ethel (Robertson) King; brother Milton; sister Gertrude; and all the others who knew and loved her that went on ahead. Dorothy and Gordon had 45 wonderful years together on earth, now they will be together forever. Dorothy moved to Regina with her family in 1918, then to Liberty, SK, where they farmed until 1928. The family moved back to Regina in 1928. Dorothy attended Balfour Tech., and later received her fifty year pin given out by the high school. She worked as a housekeeper in 1929 when jobs were hard to find. In 1950 she worked as a Nurses Aid at the General Hospital. In 1952 Dorothy worked for the Government
of Saskatchewan, at the Department of Agriculture, in the Animal Division, around the time when Saskatchewan had an outbreak of Hoof and Mouth Disease, when many thousands of cattle had to be destroyed. It was a job she never forgot, as she enjoyed animals and hated to see them put down. From 1961 to 1978 Dorothy enjoyed fancywork and made many gifts for her family. She joined the Bronco Club in 1944 and was a member until 1980. Dorothy joined the Diesel Gypsies C.B. Club with Gordon and was a member for many years. She loved to watch her favorite soap operas on TV. She enjoyed many camping and traveling trips around the country. Many a story she could tell about camping as she had to cope with all kinds of surprises and animals. But most of all Dorothy enjoyed her life with her husband and family, who will all miss her but never forget her. The family would like to express their sincere thanks for all the care and love Dorothy received. Care above and beyond the call of duty from Dr. V. Padayachee, Mainprize Manor, Midale staff, St. Joseph's Hospital, Estevan; all the cards and phone calls from family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Box 309, 124-100 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK, S4N 0E5. A visitation for family and friends was held on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, Regina. Funeral service was held on Friday, Oct. 20 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Regina, with Rev. Blair Dixon officiating. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Juliette Elizabeth Mickler-Larson

On Wed., Oct. 11, 2000, Juliette Elizabeth Mickler-Larson, late of Weyburn, passed away at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by her parents: Joseph and Harriette Wynandts; her husband, Joseph Mickler in 1976; two daughters: Sharon and Delores; one son, Norman; son-in-law, Toy; daughter-in-law, Bev; two granddaughters; two grandsons; brothers and sisters all deceased; and her second husband, Frank Larson in 1999. Juliette will be sadly missed by her two sons: Terry (Carla) of Weyburn; and David of Radville; three daughters: Loretta (Lionel) of Montmartre; Darlene (Bob) of Gladmar; and Gloria (Delbert) of Verwood; 27 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Juliette was born in Brussels, Belgium March 15, 1910. Her father came to Canada in 1910, later she and her mother and the rest of the family came to be with her father in 1911. She attended school in London, and also Glenn-Curren School. She married Joseph Mickler in 1928 in Regina. They started their married life in Lake Alma, and later moved to Gladmar, where they took over her parent's farm until the early 1940s. Then they moved to Sybouts. Juliette enjoyed taking care of her family. She helped out at her church as much as she could. She was always known for her kind and caring nature and was willing to help. She enjoyed playing cards and she loved to dance. She did a lot of crocheting, making quilts and was a very good cook. All her children loved to eat her Belgium waffles and anyone who tried them loved them. The coffee pot was always on for her family and friends. Juliette and her husband moved to Gladmar when he retired and they lived there until his passing in 1976. Then she moved to Weyburn, where she lived until she passed away at the Weyburn General Hospital on Oct. 11, 2000. Prayers were said Mon., Oct. 16 at 7:00 p.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. The funeral mass was held Tues., Oct. 17 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn, with Father F. Hengen celebrant. Interment followed at Chapel Grove Cemetery, Minton. All those in attendance were considered to be honorary pallbearers. The active pallbearers were: Harvey Hind, Joey Mickler, Darrel Tremblay, Gary Klien, Dennis Arnold and Kevin Johnson. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in her memory to St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, or to the Weyburn General Hospital. Inga Nelson

On Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, Inga Nelson, late of Weyburn, passed away at the Weyburn General Hospital at the age of 91 years. Inga was born in Sweden on January 6, 1909, coming to Canada with her parents and grandparents, settling in Weyburn in May of that same year. Being the second eldest of 16 in the family, she was called the "little mother," helping her mother take care of the others. On Oct. 14, 1932 she married Trigur Nelson, who predeceased her in 1966. She was also predeceased by one son, Larry, in 1980; one granddaughter in 1960 and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons: Dennis, in Victoria, BC; and Ron, in Chilliwack, BC; two brothers and two sisters; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A private family gathering was held Wed.,
Oct. 18 at 1:30 p.m. from Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Arrangements were entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Chapels Ltd., Weyburn.


Annie Adelaide Bloor

On Tues., Oct. 17, 2000, Annie Adelaide Bloor, late of Radville, passed away at Radville Marian Health Centre, at the age of 95 years. Predeceased by her parents, John and Kate McKay; daughter Leona; two sons: Shirley and Larry; son-in-law, Ralph Fornwald; brothers: Jack, Archie and Harry; two sisters: May and Marie; and one grandson, Doyle Bloor. Annie is survived by one son, Lorne (Mary) Bloor; two sisters: Christine Kyle and Jean Buckle; one brother, Willard McKay; one brother-in-law, Clifford (Mildred) Bloor; 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. A graveside service was held Sat., Oct. 21 in Laurier Cemetery, Radville, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. M. Barnabas officiating. All those in attendance were considered to be honorary pallbearers. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in her memory to the Radville Marian Health Centre, Radville. Arrangements were entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Chapels Ltd., Weyburn.
