Terry Hugh Eeckhout

Terry Hugh Eeckhout, Weyburn, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2000 at the age of 58 years. Terry was born April 30, 1942 to Evelyn and Maurice Eeckhout in Radville. He worked various places (N.W.T., Winnipeg) as a welder before he started to farm with his dad in the Ceylon area. After his dad passed away in 1977 Terry and his mother moved into Ceylon until his mother passed away in 1992 and he then moved to Weyburn. "Terry was part of a family that loved him and will treasure the memories that he left. Evelyn and Maurice (his parents), brothers Rick and Bob, all had the opportunity to share in Terry's life. Other people in Terry's life also got to know him in various different ways. His honesty, kindness to others, great love for animals and his dedication to his mom and dad and especially to his brother Bob. Terry also played a big part in my life, from the time he was born right up to adulthood and in the past 15 years. We corresponded on a regular basis. His penmanship is something to be admired, especially compared to my scribble. A side of Terry that many did not know was that he had a talent for drawing, writing, gardening, carpentry, fishing and yes, he was also inventive. Terry was a true friend to many people, but in my case he was my nephew and will be sadly missed. Love you! Aunt Bea." Mass of Christian burial was held Thursday, November 30 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Ceylon with Father Brian Meredith celebrant. Interment followed in the Ceylon Cemetery. He was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Evelyn Eeckhout. Terry is survived by his two brothers Rick (Shirley) Eeckhout of North Delta, BC and Robert Eeckhout of Weyburn; nieces and nephews: Robbie and Jenna, Chantel (Rocky) of Tsawwassen, BC, Victoria and Taylor, Curtis (Holly) of Chilliwack, BC, Patrick, Elizabeth, Marylynn, Christina and Charles; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Terry's memory to the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic 4101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, Sask. S4T 7T1. Active pallbearers were Doug Sorsdahl, Gilbert Verbeurgt, Melvin Gust, Rick Eeckhout, Bob Eeckhout and Jim Stevenson. God saw you getting tired, when a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you, and whispered 'Come with me.'
