Clifford Edward LaBatte, late of Weyburn, passed away September 19, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Clifford was predeceased by his parents: Edward and Mary Ann LaBatte; brother Richard LaBatte; son-in-law Doug Lanz.

Clifford Edward LaBatte, late of Weyburn, passed away September 19, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Clifford was predeceased by his parents: Edward and Mary Ann LaBatte; brother Richard LaBatte; son-in-law Doug Lanz. Clifford is survived by his best friend and loving partner, Lila Lanz, his children: Sharon (Dale) Didrick, Blaine (Brenda Lemieux) LaBatte, Lorraine (Ken) Cross, Kevin LaBatte. Donald (Rosalie) Lanz, Cathy (Hartley) Tessier, Karen (Paul) Kuffner; 15 grandchildren: 32 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Rose LaBatte; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Clifford was born January 11, 1931 on section 32, Twp 01, range 18, west 2 in the Lake Alma area. He married Beverly Gray on November 19, 1956 and divorced July 1985. He moved to Weyburn with Lila Lanz on October 1, 1995. He attended the Lutheran Church in Weyburn. Clifford belonged to the Elks Club, the Masons, Shriners, Scottish Rites. Throughout his years, Clifford was a hotel owner, farmer, worked in local government and trucking for Sybouts Sodium Sulfate Mine. Clifford had many hobbies including fastball, coaching, umpiring, curling, playing cards, dancing and was a great story teller. He was involved in many other activities such as a reeve and councillor for the RM #9, Mayor of Minton, 20 years on the Radville Hospital Board, and enjoyed debating over politics. A Service of Remembrance for Clifford was held Saturday, September 23, at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Martin Olson officiating. Lunch followed the service at McKenna Hall, Weyburn.  Interment was held at Gladmar Cemetery.
