Matt Passed away Tuesday November 11, 2014 at Tatagwa View in Weyburn after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents George and Frances Raney; brother Philip Raney and brother-in-law Percy Phillips. George leaves to mourn him: sisters, Ann Phillips, Stoughton, and Esther (Joe) Alton, Caboolture, Australia; sister-in-law Barbara Raney, Clavet; special friends Terry and Julie Leefe, Oakbank, MB; as well as many nieces and nephews. Matt grew up in Handsworth. He took his high school at Stoughton. He completed his education at SIAST taking Heavy Duty Mechanics and Electrical Engineering. His work life took him to many places: British Columbia, Ontario, Manitoba, Idaho and ending in Weyburn where he worked at Nexans. His main joy in life was boating and fishing on lakes in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. His sense of humour, fish stories and fishing trips will be missed by all. His family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Allan Fong and the staff members at Tatagwa View and Weyburn General Hospital for the care and kindness shown to Matt. No services to be held. Cremation has taken place.
