Kathleen Stella Maria Williams

Kathleen Stella Maria Williams passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the age of 76 years. Born to Michael and Antoinette (Hebert) McAuliffe on June 5, 1940 in Edmonton, AB, Kathleen grew up with her brother Denis, speaking both English and French as their father was from Ireland and their mother from Quebec. After high school she pursued a secretarial career in both Edmonton and Vancouver, BC. She met Arnott Williams and they married in 1960. Arnott persuaded her to leave the city for life on the farm. They settled in Saskatchewan where they raised their family. Kathleen enjoyed farm life, the peace and beauty of nature, and having the space to host friends and family. All were welcome, all of the time. Kathy worked at NSWB law firm in Weyburn for over 25 years and was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul parish. She was an impeccable seamstress, loved quilting, and enjoyed travel. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family; her children and their spouses, her grandchildren, her great grandson Hollis, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Kathleen brought a spirit of appreciation and gratitude to her life, and was known for her kindness, courage and grace. She leaves this journey with our love and respect. Kathy is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Antoinette McAuliffe; infant child; brother, Denis McAuliffe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bud (Olga) Williams, Dorothy (Bernard) Bouchard, Earl Williams, Bill (Lynn) Williams, Evelyn (Max) Haldane, Agnes Williams and Gladys Williams. Kathleen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 56 ½ years, Arnott Williams of Trossachs; daughter, Heather (Anthony) Marasse of Ottawa, ON and their daughters, Elizabeth and Jessica; son, Mick (Shelly) Williams of Regina, and their son, Ethan; daughter, Jacqueline Schwan of Williston, North Dakota and children, Shane Miller, Sherri (Michael) Hamers and Jared Schwan; great grandson, Hollis Hamers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kathleen McAuliffe, Ida Williams, Gordon (Krista) Williams, Fern (Joe) Demmans and Douglas Williams as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. Prayers were said Monday, August 22, at 6:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn, and a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 23, at 10:30 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with Father Francis Plaparampil celebrating. Interment followed at Laurier Cemetery, Radville. Pallbearers were Ethan Williams, Shane Miller, Jared Schwan, Sherri Hamers, Michael Hamers and Anthony Marasse; Honorary pallbearers, Jessica Marasse and Elizabeth Marasse. Special thanks to the nursing staff on 3B Regina Pasqua Hospital, and 3rd floor in Weyburn General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
