Loretta Susan Merritt born July 22, 1935 passed away peacefully on Monday May 29, 2017 at the age of 81 years. Loretta was predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Katherine Barth; husband, Thomas Merritt; grandson, Thomas Merritt; brothers, George, Rudy (Maureen) Lawrence, Steve and Harvey Barth; sisters, Rose Thompson and Irene (Roy) Gordon; brother-in-law, Doug Merritt and Lyle Johnson; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Wilfred) Clews and Mina Clews. Loretta will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Norman (Cathleen) Merritt of Pangman, and Neil (Blondena) Merritt of Stockholm, SK and their daughter, Amber and daughter-in-law, Vicki Merritt (Dion Woodcock); daughter, Edna (Dave) Petersen of Pangman, and their children, Gerry and Krystal Petersen; great grandchildren, Will and Davina Merritt, Michael Mitchell (Ceslie Ritco) and Kristopher Mitchell; great grandchildren, Bella and Bentley; brothers, Harold (Doreen) Barth and Walter (Vera) Barth; sister, Adelene Johnson; sister-in-law, Edith Merritt and Liz Barth as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation was held Friday, June 2, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Chapel. The Funeral Service was held Saturday, June 3, at 2:00 p.m. from Pangman School Gym, Pangman, with Marie Barr, LPM officiating. Interment followed in Pangman Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gene Barth, Darcy Barth, Mark Johnson, William Fisher, Boyd Kessler and Glenn Gordon. Honourary Pallbearers are all former members of the Pangman TOPS Club and all staff from the Deep South Personal Care Home.
