As the result of an ongoing investigation a 35 year old male was arrested without incident at his residence on Apr. 30.
He has been charged with three counts of assault causing bodily harm in regards to a series of domestic assaults and was held in custody. The accused also has a number of outstanding warrants from B.C. for serious offences and will be returned to B.C. to face charges there after the current charges before the courts are dealt with.
Police were called to a report of a theft from a local business on Apr. 30. As a result of the investigation a 16-year-old male was charged with theft under $5,000 (shoplifting) and will be making a court appearance.
City police were called to a local business where a male person was located sleeping on the ground outside on May 1. As a result of the investigation a 24-year-old male was apprehended under the provisions of the Mental Health Act and eventually transported to the Psychiatric Unit in North Battleford.
Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at First Avenue NE and Fifth Street. A 16-year-old male was transported to the Weyburn General Hospital with minor injuries. He was subsequently charged with driving without due care and attention and issued a traffic ticket.
The police were dispatched to a report of a large disturbance at a local pub on Apr. 27. Upon arrival the disturbance was still ongoing and was broken up by the police without incident. A 21-year-old, a 22-year-old and a 26-year-old male have been identified as being involved.
The 26-year-old male was taken to the Weyburn General Hospital with minor injuries. The matter is still under investigation.
Police were called to a two-vehicle collision on Fourth Street at Bison Avenue on Apr. 28. As a result of the investigation a 55-year-old male driver was charged with failing to yield the right-of-way. There were no injuries.
Police were dispatched the same day to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Fourth Street at Prairie Avenue. As a result of the investigation a 42-year-old male was charged with a stop sign violation. There were no injuries.
Police received a report of a theft of a jacket from a local pub on Apr. 29. As a result of video surveillance a suspect was identified and the jacket recovered. The victim did not wish to pursue a theft charge.
