Tickets are now on sale for Quota International of Weyburn's Women of the Year awards luncheon, to be held Monday, Apr. 7 at noon in McKenna Hall. All the nominees were announced on Sunday, during a nominee tea at Grace United Church.
Tickets are now on sale for Quota International of Weyburn's Women of the Year awards luncheon, to be held Monday, Apr. 7 at noon in McKenna Hall.
All the nominees were announced on Sunday, during a nominee tea at Grace United Church. Connie Milligan, Elsie Lai and Stella Swertz were nominated for the SaskPower Workplace Excellence award. Susan Adderley, Lynnette Richards, Melissa Vilcu and Andrea Morrice were nominated for the Access Communications Exceptional Entrepreneur award.
April Hoffman were nominated for the Investors Group Young Woman of Distinction award. Rini Hoffman, Mary Konotopetz and Margaret Lukey were nominated for the Quota International Isabelle Butters Community Service award.
During the Apr. 7 luncheon, the keynote speaker will be Dr. Joyce Bellous, a transformational educator, leader, speaker, consultant and coach. Tickets cost $30 each and can be purchased from Brady's House of Flowers.
"The awards acknowledge the contributions of women and it provides us with an opportunity to raise funds for two worthwhile areas of service - disadvantaged women and children and for hearing and speech impaired persons," said Norma Buydens, awards co-chair.
Quota International of Weyburn remains active in many areas of the community. They donate to the Weyburn Public Library's toy lending program, the Weyburn Special Care Home, Tatagwa View, the Salvation Army and several FM hearing systems in schools and daycares and long-term care facilities.
The organization also offers scholarships through the Southeast Regional College, the Rotary Music Festival and the annual Festival of Carols.
