The "Color Me Radville" five kilometre run/walk fundraiser will be held in Radville on Sunday, August 24.

During the event, runners are coated with a tsunami of colour, including bombs of blue, green, pink, purple and yellow. Each section of the run adds a new explosion of colour.

The colour bombs are a non-toxic, non-rash-inducing, coloured cornstarch. The products used during the event are not considered hazardous.

The run will start from the Radville Rink at 10 a.m., so they ask all participants to be at the Rink by 9:30 a.m. There will be traffic direction signage throughout the course, but no streets will actually be closed.

The course will host four colour stations and one water station throughout the town.

There are already 185 registered runners. Registration for the event does not close until Saturday, August 24, so there is still time to sign up for the fundraiser. Registration fees are $50 for ages 17 and older, and for youth ages seven to 16 entry fee is $20. Children under six are free, but must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Entry forms are available on the Town of Radville website at www.radville.ca.

"We are hoping to provide a fun, physical activity in our community while raising a bit of money that can be used to organize other such events, and possibly help towards upgrades of equipment around the Radville Laurier Park," said Dawn Ricard, one of the organizers.

There is an early package pick-up on Thursday, Aug. 21 at the Radville Rink from 7 to 8 p.m. Participants are encouraged to send someone to pick up their packages, so they will have all their gear ready to go on race day. There will be tattoos, T-shirts, sunglasses and bracelets available in the packages.

If anyone would like to register, or volunteer for the event, they can contact Dawn Ricard at colormeradville@outlook.com. The group also has a Facebook page, which can be searched through Color Me Radville 5K.

There will be a hot dog lunch sponsored by the Radville Co-op available after the run. Hot dogs cost $5 per person, and the price includes a treat and a drink. Gluten-free hot dogs are available for those with sensitivities.
