Crocus 80 to stage ‘Pinocchio’ musical

Crocus 80 Theatre will be presenting the musical production of “Pinocchio” as this year’s Christmas Dessert Theatre, with three performances to be held at the Tommy Douglas Performing Arts Centre.
The play will be held on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10, starting at 7 p.m. each evening, along with a matinee performance on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. Doors will open a half-hour before each performance.
The lead role of Pinocchio will be performed by Sarge McGowan, with Dave Frayn as Geppetto, Freda Lautner as Columbina, Evan Gillespie as the cricket, and Maehailey Cascagnette as the Blue Fairy.
Other roles are played by Dave Rennie Sean Riley, Skylar Schultz, Cara Schultz and Chris Gillespie.
The play is written by Colin Wakefield, with original songs and music by Kate Edgar.
Santa Claus will make an appearance during the intermission of each performance, when the desserts will be served.
Tickets are $15 each for the performance and desserts, and are available at Pharmasave. The proceeds from this dessert theatre will go towards the summer theatre program.
