Leader Drew Paquette, right, explained how telephones worked in the olden days, when there were operators and party lines in the rural area. These children were part of the Pioneer Kids Club at the Heritage Village on Thursday, where they did a scavenger hunt and learned about how the pioneers of this region used to live in years past. There will be sessions of the club coming up on Thursday, July 18 and 25, and they are free to enter, but children must be registered as space is limited. Call the village office at 306-842-6377.
