Weyburn performers Taylor and Jayda Cameron will be featured in performances of the play, “Into the Woods”, to be produced by the Do It With Class Youth Theatre group of Regina this weekend.

The play is a mashup of the fairy tales of Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel and a new tale that weaves these stories together.

All of the characters from these familiar stories interact with each other and the stories end up crossing over.

The senior company has 26 youth, aged 13 to 19, and some of the roles are being double-casted, so there will be changes from night to night.

Taylor, who is 18, portrays the witch, and Jayda, 15, plays Red Riding Hood. Both girls are students at the Weyburn Comprehensive School and have performed in numerous plays, bands and choirs. (photo by Darryl Hofmeister)

Into The Woods shows will be held on Thursday, Feb. 7, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Friday, Feb. 8, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 9, 7 p.m. at the University of Regina Riddell Centre. The matinee is an hour shorter and targeted to children.
