The classical music duo of pianist Meagan Milatz of Weyburn and violinist Amy Hillis of Regina made an early stop in Weyburn to play some musical selections at Hill Top Manor on Friday afternoon.

They later appeared on stage at the Cugnet Centre to play for the Weyburn Concert Series.

The two young women are about halfway through a 50-concert national tour that began in mid-September, and will end in May when they finish up with three concerts in the Far North, ending in Iqaluit.

The duo, known professionally as meagan&amy, performed for the residents of Hill Top Manor, with Meagan honoured to play for longtime Weyburn piano teacher June Barber, who is a resident at the home. She played on Barber’s grand piano, which is also now at the care home, and she noted while her main piano teacher was Cherith Alexander (who was in the audience with daughter Bridget), she also occasionally went to play for Mrs. Barber to get her opinion on her playing.
