Pianist and conductor Cody Obst will return to his hometown with accomplished Calgary soprano, Krista de Silva, to perform a Christmas concert on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at Calvary Baptist Church.
The performance, called “O Holy Night”, will feature some of the most well-loved and festive songs of the season including Schubert’s famous “Ave Maria”, selections from Handel’s “Messiah”, and other popular songs. Obst will also entertain the audience with some dazzling solo piano arrangements of famous Christmas carols. Rounding out the evening will be a set of classical music that will showcase the performers’ virtuoso abilities.
“I am very much looking forward to performing in my hometown of Weyburn again,” said Obst. “Christmas is a time when we all think of hope, love, joy, and peace. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this than with a concert of great music, bringing people together to enjoy the season.”
“Krista is an absolutely fabulous singer with an amazing voice and we’re happy to be able to share the music with you.”
Admission cost to attend the concert is by donation to the artists.
