Presale starts for the Dean Brody centennial concert

Presale tickets are now available for the Dean Brody concert, planned for Saturday, Aug. 3 during Weyburn's Centennial celebrations.

Current or former residents who are planning to come to Weyburn's centennial Homecoming, have an early chance to register for a presale code. The presale goes from today, May 8 to May 15. Then tickets will be on sale to the general public.

"We are very excited that Dean Brody is coming to Weyburn for this concert," said Rochelle Wendt, chair of the centennial concert committee. "It was a long road to get Dean Brody booked, he is a very popular and hot act right now."

"The Dean Brody concert should be an outstanding show for any country lover, and any music lover," said Wendt.
It was also recently announced that Codie Prevost, another well-known country singer, will be the opening act for the Dean Brody concert. "This evening is shaping up to be a great show," added Wendt.

Residents can get a presale code by going to the Weyburn Centennial website at www.weyburn100.ca, and filling out a registration form with an email address.

Since first announcing the special centennial concert, Wendt said that there was "a huge increase in our registrations online." Residents are encouraged to register early, since tickets will be selling fast.

The ticket prices are $45 for the floor, which is standing or dancing room only with bar service; and $35 for seating. All tickets are rush only.

The Dean Brody concert will be held at Crescent Point Place. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the opening act of Cody Provost is 7:30 p.m., and the headliner act of Dean Brody is 8:30 p.m.

Another feature event of Saturday, Aug. 3 is the centennial supper catered by the Weyburn Young Fellows at the Weyburn Curling Rink.

Wendt said that residents will be able to attend the centennial supper and the Dean Brody concert, since the supper starts at 5:30 p.m..

There is also the option of a different concert at the Weyburn Curling Rink, featuring the Stephen Maguire and the Memory Lane Bande in "Memory Lane: A Tribute to the 40s, 50s and 60s." This concert follows right after the centennial supper.
