Prepare to bunk in on the couch with your snacks on Saturday, May 16, and help the SCMA honour the best country, roots and gospel music talent in Saskatchewan. The 31st Annual Saskatchewan Country Music Association awards will be on your TV, or on your computer screen.

Weyburn’s own Tenille Arts is up for six awards (shown performing in the photo above), and the Happy Nun Café of Forget is up for the award for Music Venue of the Year.

The awards Tenille are up for include Fan’s Choice Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year; Songwriter of the Year, for “Mad Crazy Love”, along with co-songwriters Alex Kline and Allison Veltz; Video of the Year for “Somebody Like That”, and Interactive Artist or Group of the Year.

The show will air on Access7 channels across the province on May 16 starting at 8 p.m., only available to AccessTV customers.

The show will be streamed online, open to the public, also on Saturday starting at 8 p.m. at https://www.myaccess.ca/access7/live/SCMA/.You will also find the link at https://scma.sk.ca. This is a real-time stream, which starts at 8 p.m. sharp. At the end of the stream the link will be taken down and will no longer be viewable.

The Virtual Awards Showwill be re-broadcast on AccessTV on Sunday, May 24 starting at noon.

Join hosts, Matt Ryan from CJNS Meadow Lake and Cody Glydon from CKRM Regina as they take you through an evening full of awards and musical performances by Donny Parenteau, Chris Henderson, Brody Siebert, Samara Yung, Shantaia, Tommy John Ehman, The North Sound, Amy Nelson, Jordyn Pollard, Erin Hill, Yvonne St. Germaine, Tayler Tluchak, Amanda Hagel, Aces Wyld, Jay & Jo, Stephanie Rose, Brock Andrews, and Munro & Patrick.

The SCMA Awards will be virtual for the first time ever. Tune in to see who takes home the coveted Mikee SCMA Awards.
