The 2016 Weyburn Comp School’s musical presentation of “The Little Mermaid” is ready to bring Ariel’s adventures onto the stage at the Cugnet Centre.
Performances will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2. Come out early and enjoy the pre-show with food, merchandise, visit the photo booth and everyone showing off their costumes (anyone can come dressed up). Tickets will be available at the door.
The photo booth will feature different Disney princesses, including Snow White, Elsa, Jasmine, Cinderella along with Prince Charming.
In the production, Mitch Bellefleur plays Sebastian the crab. He is currently in Grade 12 and The Little Mermaid will be the fourth production he has been a part of during his time in WCS.
He has also participated in Grease, Footloose, and most recently, Oliver. He found his passion for musical theatre at a young age, when he participated in his first musical in Grade 2, at APES. Outside of musicals, Mitch is an active member of both the STARS Choir and the SRC. He is extremely excited to be playing Sebastian and hopes to go on to play many more classic Disney characters in the future. He hopes you don’t find his character to be too crabby and can’t wait for you to be transported to “Under the Sea,” where life is much better!
Delaney Gordon will perform as Ariel. She is a Grade 12 student who has been involved in musicals since elementary school. This is Delaney’s fourth production with WCS.
She was a chorus member in Grease, a pirate in Peter Pan, and an understudy for (ironically enough) Ariel in Footloose, as well as the character Betty. Most recently she played Nancy in the WCS drama class’s production of Oliver.
She hopes this musical turns your whole world upside-down … or at least part of your world.
WCS is hosting its annual track meet this Saturday. Teams from across Saskatchewan will be attending and if anyone can help please contact the school.
