New reservoir tour

A number of City of Weyburn staff and dignitaries had a tour of the City's new reservoir and water plant facility on Friday morning. At left, water plant supervisor Shabbir Sukrani explains the workings of the new plant to MLA and Environment Minister Dustin Duncan as city engineer Nader Keshta listened. At right, Mayor Marcel Roy had a discussion with Coun. Jeff Richards. This was the official opening for the new facility, which included construction of a new 13-million-litre reservoir. This project, which will include the upgrades to the First Avenue reservoir and Mergens Street watermain later this year, cost a total of $10.6 million, with the province and federal government paying $5.3 million and the City funding the remaining $5.3 million of the project.t
