The Weyburn 4-H Beef club had its registration meeting in October with the nominations for the executive voted in for the 2019-2020 year.  Our president is Kylie Berner, vice president Kane Hooper, secretary Kale Williamson, treasurer Jacey Fellner and I am Carter Goudy and I am the club reporter.

Our club has been busy the past couple of months.  You can always see members and their families helping at the Weyburn Redwing games.  There are people working 50/50, door and the ice cream booth.  Never hesitate to ask us about the club or our calves.  Our club also did a collection for the local Food Bank in November and in January we ae doing a collection for the Weyburn Humane Society.  Helping and giving back to the community is an important part of the 4-H program.

In November some of our members took part in the Team Grooming competition at the Canadian Western Agribition.  Rylan Knupp, Kylie Berner and Kale Williamson represented us well in the Senior Division.  In the intermediate grooming competition the club was represented by Carter Goudy, Austin Knupp and Ryder Fellner.  Both groups were very competitive and made our club proud.  There were also some members that went to the Medicine Hat Pen Show in December.  Carter Goudy was third in his heifer division and Jackson was second in his steer class.  Cheyenne Berner won her bred heifer class and went on to the championship round.  Kylie Berner had grand champion steer and ended up reserve champion heifer overall.  It demonstrates the quality of cattle and the abilities of our members when they show at the jackpots all over western Canada.

The club also had its Christmas party and meeting in December.  The members decided on a skating party this year with a meeting to follow.  Everyone brought snacks and a good time was had by all.  The public speaking competition will be taking place in the new year where members are given the opportunity to advance on to the area level to compete against other local clubs.
