The Open Air Market was established in 2016 as a non-profit organization registered within the province of Saskatchewan. Governed by a volunteer board that consists of seven elected local community members, the Open Air Market believes in supporting and developing the community.

The market will run up to and including Dec. 21 before they take a winter break for the month of January 2020.

Non-profits hold a special place in the vision of the organization, and are always welcomed to attend free of charge to do fundraising or raise awareness for their organization.

Local entertainers and artistsare also welcome to set up at market at no charge, to share their talents with the market patrons and vendors. They are permitted to “busk” to earn money for their efforts.

So far this year, the Open Air Market has held 20 markets, with a total of 228 vendors in attendance. On average, one non-profit organization has attended each week. A new “shelf vendor” option was introduced this year for artisans who are unable to attend or physically stay at the market for the entire day, proving once again how invested in the community the Open Air Market truly is.

New vendors and non-profits are always welcome to join in the fun, cheerful, and welcoming atmosphere that the Open Air Market has become known for. The group has a strong presence on Facebook and Instagram, which is how they do the majority of their communication with the community.

The organization will be holding a special appreciation event on Saturday, Oct. 19, to show appreciation for all market supporters.

Follow them on Facebook or Instagram, and attend the Market located at the City Centre Mall on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
