Co-operative Playschool hosts event for new year

Weyburn Cooperative Playschool hosted a “Kick Off to School” event at Jubilee Park over the weekend to celebrate the first week back to school.
Activities were planned for children aged two to five and included Happy Feet soccer sessions with ‘Coach T’ Tyler Hillstead, bouncy house castles provided by Seitz Rentals, Cotton Candy by Melissa, face painting, and a concession stand.
The family-oriented event was put on by playschool parents who volunteer on the playschool board of directors. Weyburn Cooperative Playschool is a not-for-profit organization that has provided educational programs for three and four-year-olds in Weyburn and area for 39 years.
Weyburn Cooperative Playschool held their annual general meeting and Parent Info Night on Aug. 29.
The board of directors and teaching staff for the 2018/2019 school year are Lindsey Lawrence (registrar/treasurer), Chelsea Wahl (member at large), Jennie Nielsen (member at large), Nancy Morley (supplies), Leyna Cugnet (vice president), Kristal Elliott (teacher assistant), Jacqui Spence (teacher), Laura Missal (treasurer), Melissa Moffat (secretary), Jennifer Cugnet (president), and Carissa Tatarliov (fundraising), and April Yoner (publicity). Weyburn Cooperative Playschool welcomed their new and returning families back to school.
The board is proud to provide Weyburn and area families with playschool programs children are eager to come to each week that give them a friendly, safe, and fun introduction to a classroom setting.
The board also hosts events throughout the year for families in the community with young children. They invite all families thinking about playschool for their children, to visit their website for more information.
