City police investigate theft of cell phones

Weyburn police received a report of a theft of cell phones from an unlocked vehicle on Wednesday. Both phones were later located and were damaged beyond repair.

Weyburn police received a report of a theft of cell phones from an unlocked vehicle on Wednesday. Both phones were later located and were damaged beyond repair. 

Weyburn police members on patrol came across a person known to have an outstanding arrest warrant Thursday. The person was arrested and dealt with without incident.

City police responded to a report of a family domestic assault on Thursday. As a result of the call, a male youth was arrested at the scene and is now facing an assault charge on a family member. He will be making an upcoming court appearance.

Weyburn police received a complaint of a vehicle being driven very erratically, nearly becoming involved in a head-on collision on Friday. Police were unable to locate the vehicle. The incident occurred at about 3:03 p.m. on Highway 35 south of Weyburn, and involved a White Dodge truck with dark tinted windows.

City police received a report of a taxi fare refusing to pay for the ride on Friday. The matter is still under investigation.

Weyburn police reported this was a very quiet week and they said there were no reportable incidents involving “back-to-school” traffic/pedestrians.
