The Weyburn Police Service is investigating a theft on July 1, after a report was received of an individual losing their debit card and having money taken from their bank account. The incident remains under investigation.
The Weyburn Police Service received a complaint of a female who had been sexually assaulted in a business parking lot in the 1000 Block of Sims Avenue on Saturday. The female was approached by a male at around 4 p.m., as she went to her vehicle and was assaulted. Another male came to her assistance and the suspect left the area.
The suspect is described as a male, around 30-40 years old, and is six feet tall, with a larger build, dark skin and long dark shoulder-length hair. The suspect was wearing distressed jeans and a baggy t-shirt. Police are also looking to speak with the male who was driving a blue GMC Duramax diesel truck who may be a witness to this incident.
Weyburn police received a call of a forgery after getting a report that an individual had fraudulently obtained a vehicle from the complainant on Friday. The matter remains under investigation.
The Weyburn Police Service received a complaint of a theft on July 5 with the complainant reporting that their orange and silver BMX bicycle was stolen from their yard. The matter remains under investigation.
The Weyburn Police Service responded to a local residence on June 30 after receiving reports of yelling and screaming coming from inside the house. Police determined that a loud argument had occurred between a couple, but no violence had taken occurred during the domestic. No charges resulted.
The Weyburn Police Service attended to a local residence regarding a curfew compliance check on June 30. The individual, a 21-year-old female, was not present and as a result is now facing charges of breach of undertaking and will appear in court in August.
A member of the Weyburn police conducted a vehicle stop on June 30 and found the driver, a 20-year-old-female, was a prohibited driver. The accused was charged and will be appearing in court later in July, and their vehicle was towed and impounded.
The Weyburn Police Service received a complaint of a mischief in the 200 block of Fourth Street North on June 30, after the complainant found that someone had cut their trees back from the sidewalk. The matter remains under investigation.
Weyburn police received a call of a disturbance on the street on June 30. Upon arriving police determined a domestic dispute was occurring between a couple. Police mediated the situation and one of the parties agreed to stay at another residence for the night. No charges were laid.
As a result of an unrelated investigation on July 1, the Weyburn Police Service located a 30-year-old male who was found to have numerous warrants for his arrest from RCMP and Estevan Police Service. The accused was arrested and later released by a Justice for court at a later date.
Members of the city police attended to a local residence in regard to a report of a domestic related assault on July 1. The subsequent investigation resulted in a 29-year-old male being arrested and charged with assault and released for court at a later date. The victim, a 32-year-old male, did not suffer injuries in the assault.
As a result of a bylaw investigation, the home-owner of a residence in the 400 block Fourth Avenue was issued a ticket under the maintenance bylaw on July 4 and had an order issued to clean their messy yard. The incident remains under investigation.
Members of the city police attended to a local residence in regard to a domestic-related disturbance on July 4. Police mediated the situation and remained to keep the peace as one party removed some of their personal belongings. No criminal charges were laid.
Weyburn police were called to attend to a disturbance in the area of 400 block of Coteau Avenue on July 5. Police located a 58-year-old male who was yelling. The male was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for being drunk in public and lodged in cells until sober.
City police received a report of mischief on July 5, after the complainant reported that their windshield of their vehicle had been smashed. The subsequent investigation determined a 58-year-old male was responsible and he was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000, and will appear in court at a later date.
While on patrol, a member of the Weyburn police observed a male who was staggering down the sidewalk on Saturday. Due to the level of intoxication, the 27-year-old male was arrested for being drunk in public and held for their safety until sober.
An individual drove to the Weyburn Police Service on Saturday, and while speaking with an officer it became apparent the individual had previously been drinking alcohol. The officer conducted an ASD demand (roadside test) and the individual blew a warning. The 48-year-old male was issued a driver’s license suspension for 72 hours and the vehicle was impounded for three days.
