Weyburn police has received numerous reports over the past number of weeks regarding Canada Post community mailboxes in various areas of the city being damaged. At this point police have no leads and no potential suspects.

City police received a report of a theft from a local store on Thursday. The item was recovered in Regina. With the assistance of the Regina Police Service, Weyburn police are working to identify the individual.

The Weyburn police received a report regarding a bicycle that had been locked, the lock cut, and the bike stolen on Thursday. This occurred in the 10 block of Third Avenue SE. City police received a request to assist in the transport of a violent mental health patient to a mental health facility on Monday. While escorting this person, an officer was bitten by the person and one hospital staff member was assaulted. The person was then safely delivered to the mental health facility. The person will be facing charges of assaulting a police officer and assault once released. The injuries received by both people were minor in nature.

The Weyburn police were dispatched to a report of a fight at a local bar on Oct. 15. The combatants had stopped prior to police arrival. Both combatants were given a ride to their residence and advised that if they were encountered again arrests were possible as well as charges.

City police were dispatched to a report of a fight at a local bar on Oct. 16. The incident was over before police arrived but the combatant was warned of his actions.

Police are investigating incidents that occurred on the 200 block of Foster Street on Wednesday. In one case several items were stolen out of a garage. City police received a report of a person performing an indecent act on Wednesday. The matter is still under investigation.

Weyburn police received a report of an assault related to a domestic issue on Thursday. The matter is under investigation.

City police received a report of a theft from a local business on Friday. The matter is actively under investigation.

Weyburn police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 39 on Saturday. As the result of the stop, the driver was arrested for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. He was also processed for impaired driving by a drug.

City police received a report of an individual who was known to be on conditions not to possess drugs, but who was in possession of drugs on Saturday. The individual was arrested for breach of his community sentence order and held in custody.

Weyburn police received a call from an individual in a mental health crisis on Monday. The person agreed to go with the police to a health care facility to be assessed.
