Weyburn police execute drug search warrants

As a result of a drug trafficking investigation by members of the Weyburn Police Service, drug search warrants were executed on Saturday at approximately 3:30 p.m.

As a result of a drug trafficking investigation by members of the Weyburn Police Service, drug search warrants were executed on Saturday at approximately 3:30 p.m. Members of the Weyburn police were vassisted by members of the Estevan Police Service, Weyburn RCMP, Fillmore RCMP, RCMP Canine, and members of CFSEU Regina, who executed search warrants at four separate dwellings in the City of Weyburn.

Seized during the searches was approximately a half-pound of cocaine,  a small quantity of Oxycontin, and $2,200 in cash. Also located and seized was stolen property and brass knuckles. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is in excess of $60,000.

Arrested was a 25-year-old Weyburn man, a 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old male, both from Edmonton.

The Weyburn man is facing charges of trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and possession of a dangerous weapon.

The 22-year-old Edmonton man has been charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime over $5,000.

The 17-year-old Edmonton youth has been charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of Oxycontin for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime over $5,000.

All three accused were remanded in custody and appeared in court in Weyburn on Tuesday.
