Weyburn police investigate reports of vehicles being entered

There were 96 calls for service to the Weyburn Police Service during the week, ending on Dec. 16. Police received five reports of vehicles rummaged through overnight on Dec. 12.

There were 96 calls for service to the Weyburn Police Service during the week, ending on Dec. 16. Police received five reports of vehicles rummaged through overnight on Dec. 12. Footprints were found of a person walking up and down streets checking multiple vehicles. WPS would like to remind everyone to lock their vehicles.

Weyburn police received a call from a local business on Friday which had graffiti sprayed painted on its wall.

Weyburn police received a call on Dec. 10 about harassing communications. A female was texting and calling a male repetitively from various numbers trying to contact a male, after being asked to stop all communications. Police made contact with the female and had her desist from making further communications.

City police attended to a report of a possible overdose at a residence on Dec. 11. Police attended to assist EMS in gaining access to the residence. EMS was able to gain access and proceeded with providing medical care to the individual inside.

Weyburn police received a call of two females causing a disturbance in an apartment building on Dec. 11. Police attended and spoke to both parties and had the incident mediated.

City police were called about an intoxicated male leaving an establishment on Saturday. A male was treated by EMS for a possible drug overdose.

The Weyburn Police Service have received numerous calls about a CRA/Service Canada scam. Scammers tell people they will be arrested if they do not pay a certain amount of money to them.

Revenue Canada/Service Canada does not operate this way, so it is best to just hang up when receiving these calls. Police strongly advise the public not to give out any personal information to these individuals.
