City police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on June 9. As a result of the stop, the driver was charged with having no driver’s licence, displaying an unauthorized licence plate, and driving an unregistered vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle was found to be wanted on a warrant from the Regina Police Service, and was arrested and dealt with on that matter.

Weyburn police received a request to conduct a wellbeing check on an individual on Thursday. The person was found to be at home and was fine.

City police had a 1973 vintage licence plate turned in on Thursday. The plate number is 17-871. If you are missing this plate, please claim it at the Weyburn Police Service.

Weyburn police received a complaint regarding an erratic driver on Friday. The vehicle was located and the driver found to be an unauthorized driver. As a result, the vehicle was impounded and the driver charged.

Police received a call regarding a missing youth on Saturday. The youth was quickly located.

City police received a report of a domestic assault involving a youth on Saturday. As a result of the complaint and the investigation, an adult has been charged with assault and the Ministry of Social Services has been contacted.

While on patrol on Sunday, the Weyburn police received a warning from the Licence Plate Recognition System, alerting them to the possibility that the owner of the vehicle was the subject of an arrest warrant from the Regina Police Service. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was confirmed to be wanted. The driver was processed on the warrant and released to appear later in court.

During the week, the Weyburn Police Service dealt with 95 complaints or calls for service. They issued one drug charge, one Criminal Code charge and laid 13 other charges.

Meanwhile, the Weyburn RCMP reported that two vehicles that had been stolen from a farm site east of Weyburn have been recovered. The vehicles included a 1966 red Ford Bronco, and a 1981 grey Ford Bronco.
