A business reported an attempted theft to the Weyburn Police Service on Wednesday. An employee of the business confronted an individual before they were able to leave the store with product and wanted police to advise that individual they were no longer welcome on the property. The individual was located and advised of the business’s wishes.

A scam from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation asking people to click on a link to claim their prize was reported to police on Saturday. The individual did not follow the instructions, therefore there was no loss to them.

A COVID-19 complaint came in concerned with the number of people in a yard of a residence on Sunday. Police looked into the complaint and found that the gathering was within the restrictions.

A phone scam was reported to police that supposedly came from Canada Alert Scotiabank on Wednesday. The caller stated that the complainant’s account had been hacked and requested personal information. The individual did not provide any details and did not suffer any loss.

A complaint of a dog running at large was received by police on April 19. The dog was located and returned to its owner, and the owner of the dog was warned of the bylaw.

A COVID-19 concern came in of a group of individuals gathering at one of the schools in the city. Police attended, spoke to the group, who then left on their own.

Police were called to a service station in the city to assist with an unruly customer on April 19. When police arrived the customer had already left the business, but was located a short time later. The individual was warned of his behavior.

A traffic stop was made on a vehicle on April 20, and one of the three occupants was found to be in breach of their curfew. The individual was arrested and released for court at a later date.

A report of a missing person came into police on April 20. The individual was located and picked up by a family member.

Tires on a vehicle were reported to have been slashed outside of a business in the central part of the city on April 21. The matter is under investigation.

A homeowner on the west side of the city called in a suspicious person coming out of the back yard of a residence on April 21. When the caller made eye contact with the individual, the person hid their face and ran away. WPS members searched the area, however were unable to locate the individual.

A complaint of an individual speeding and weaving in and out of traffic was reported to police on Wednesday. A description of the vehicle was provided by the caller, which was later located by police. The driver of the vehicle was advised of the complaint and warned of their driving actions.

During a traffic stop on Thursday, the driver of a vehicle was found to have a warrant from Weyburn RCMP. The individual was arrested and released for court at a later date.

Three complaints of graffiti in different areas of the city came in to Weyburn police on Thursday. The graffiti appears to have been done by the same individual(s) and is being looked into. Graffiti falls under mischief to property and is a Criminal Code of Canada offence.

Police were called to assist with the removal of an unwanted house guest on Thursday. Police arrived at the residence to find that the unwanted party had already gone, the individual was located a short distance from the property and advised that they were no longer welcome. The individual carried on their way, and there were no further calls back to the residence.

A fuel station reported that they had a customer pump fuel and then drive away without paying on Thursday. Police attended and were able to get the license plate for the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was located and it was found to be a mistake made at the pump when selecting mode of payment. The individual returned to the fuel station and paid for their fuel.

Persons attended the Weyburn police station to report that an individual had just kicked their vehicle and then took off on Thursday. The individual was located by police and charged with mischief, impaired operation and breach of probation. The individual was released for court at a later date.

While in custody at Weyburn Police Service and being escorted through the building on Friday, an individual punched a hole in one of the walls. The individual was charged with mischief and will appear in court with their other matters.

A resident filed a complaint of persons blasting music from their vehicle in front of their residence on Friday. The individual responsible was located and advised of the City Bylaw covering loud noise emanating from a vehicle, which has a $140 fine attached.

Police were called to assist with a person that was showing signs of self-harm on Friday. After speaking with the individual, they agreed to seek medical help, and a ride was provided to Weyburn General Hospital.

An individual suffering from dementia was reported missing to police on Saturday. WPS members searched the city and located the individual, who was treated by EMS and released to family members.

Damage to a vehicle was reported on the north side of the city on Saturday. The complainant told police that sometime during the night, beer cans were thrown at the windshield of his vehicle causing damage. The incident is under investigation.

Police were called to a report of a domestic dispute on the east side of the city on Saturday. A physical altercation had taken place between two parties, both were charged with assault and released with a no-contact condition.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle on the east side of the city on Sunday. An occupant of the vehicle was found to be in possession of cannabis, and the individual was charged under the Cannabis Act for having it in a vehicle. The fine for the infraction is $360.

Complaints of a noisy car stereo came in from the south side of the city on Sunday. The vehicle was located by WPS members and the driver was warned of the bylaw.
