Weyburn police received a call regarding a shed of a business broken into on Monday, and some property stolen.

Weyburn police received a call regarding an internal theft of cash from a business on Thursday. The suspect was identified and the matter is still under identification.

City police received a few reports of parked vehicles being rummaged through on Friday, and various items stolen. Police want to emphasize that in Weyburn these are crimes of opportunity and if the vehicle is locked, the person simply moves on to the next easy target. Weyburn police received two related complaints from the Onstad Crescent area where residential outbuildings were entered and various items stolen on Friday. As with parked vehicles, please help us protect your belongings by securing the outbuildings in your yard.

City police received a call regarding the theft of a bicycle from a residential shed on Friday. The bike was recovered a close distance away.

Weyburn police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Feb. 18. As a result of the stop, both the driver and passenger were known to police and known to be on conditions not to contact each other. The driver was arrested without incident, and was also subjected to a Drug Recognition Evaluation for impaired driving by drug. He was issued a three-day licence suspension and was also charged with driving while suspended.

City police received a call regarding an assault on Wednesday. The suspect was located and arrested without incident. The subject was charged with assault and later released.

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle and people in the 600 block of Fifth Street NE on Wednesday. The people were reported to have parked on the street and then rang a door bell, going back to their parked vehicle, and they then drove off. Anyone having information about this or who may be able to identify the vehicle or the people are asked to contact the Weyburn Police at 306-848-3250.

Weyburn police received a RID (report an impaired driver) call about a suspected impaired driver on Wednesday. The driver was located and a mandatory alcohol screening test demand was made. The driver passed the test and was allowed to proceed.

City police received a report on Wednesday of a former intimate partner transmitting intimate images via social media without the consent of the person. Distributing intimate images without consent can constitute a criminal offence. The matter is still under investigation.

Weyburn police received a call regarding two individuals actively engaged in trying to cash a fraudulent cheque on Friday. The two individuals were arrested and the matter is still under investigation.
