The Premier announced on Thursday that beginning May 4, certain restrictions in the Public Health Orders will start to be relaxed.

During Phase I and Phase II of the relaxation plan there is no change to group size or to social distancing requirements. Other police agencies have already noted an increase in people that are out and about as a result of the spring weather and with that they have noted violations of the 10-person group size limit.

The Weyburn Police Service will continue to monitor group sizes when we see them and will deal with official complaints regarding group size violations as we receive them and in the same manner we have always done so.

We have been afforded the opportunity to start to get things back to normal because, as the Premier puts it, of the exceptional cooperation of the Saskatchewan people. As tempting as it may be to slip into a more relaxed mode of awareness it will only take one event to put us back on restrictions.

Please obey and follow all of the rules. If you have any questions please contact the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency toll-free line at 1-855-559-5502.
