The Giant Tiger retail store at the City Centre Mall has now been closed.
“The decision to close the Weyburn store wasn’t easy and is in no way reflective of the contributions and dedication of the affected employees,” said Alison Scarlett, director of communications for Giant Tiger Stores Ltd., in a short statement by the company.
She explained that the closure is part of a larger growth strategy for Giant Tiger and The North West Company in target markets.
“We have encouraged the affected employees to apply for open positions at Giant Tiger and The North West Company. We appreciate our loyal customers in Weyburn and encourage them to shop online at gianttiger.com or at their nearest Giant Tiger location,” said Scarlett.
