Sandra LaRose

SANDRA LAROSE, nominated by Andrea Bell

Sandra LaRose has taken a tragedy and turned it into a teaching moment for her community and peers.

She has balanced her work and life, both with dedication while being an advocate for Rail Safety, and Distracted Driving awareness. Her involvement with federal and provincial organizations such as Operation Lifesavers Stop Track Tragedies and SGI have made an impression on people of all ages in Weyburn, the province, and nation-wide.

Her voice can be heard on household televisions in the SGI commercials, showing representation of how altruistic the community of Weyburn and surrounding areas are.

She leads by example by speaking out on new driving laws and sharing her story to the public so that no one has to go through what she has.

When Sandra is not serving her community as a friendly cashier (receiving public raves for her customer service) at Prairie Sky Co-op Food Store in Weyburn, she is planning the annual Sharing Kailynn’s Sunshine fundraiser for Ronald McDonald Charity House. The Ronald McDonald Charity House reaches more than just the city of Saskatoon.

Everyone in this community knows at least one person that has needed the services of RMCH. The Sharing Kailynn’s Sunshine event doesn’t just end there, Sandra is turning Sharing Kailynn’s Sunshine into a local nonprofit organization to give back to the community that has supported her through the tragic times.

She has big ambition for future fundraising events in the immediate and distant future, assuring to keep Sharing Kailynn’s Sunshine (soon to be registered) non-profit viable for the community of Weyburn and surrounding areas.
