Giant minion

A balloon costume of a minion, created and worn by Richy and Preston Roy, made its way down Third Street during the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce’s Fair parade on Monday morning. The brothers are applying to set a Guinness World Record with this costume, which officially measured around 12.5 feet after the parade, made from about 1,340 balloons. This float was judged as the parade's best entry from an individual, with the Credit Union float as the best business entry, and the Ag Society float as the best entry by an organization. The brothers spent about 65 hours over five days making this creation, including two and a half hours prior to the parade to get it ready. For other photos from the Fair Parade, check out the Review's photo gallery below for a full selection of scenes from the parade, and see the Weyburn Review on Wednesday, July 4, for the story on the giant minion.
