Weyburn fire fighter Tim Sawatzky installed one of the Christmas light fixtures to a light pole on Second Street downtown, next to the City Centre Mall. With Christmas events coming up fast in the city, the lights will help residents and visitors to get into the Christmas spirit.

One of the first events of Christmas in Weyburn will be the Festival of Trees, with setup underway on Nov. 18-20 at Barber Motors, and then the decorated Christmas trees will be on display from Nov. 21-28, with the live auction of the trees on Nov. 28.

The proceeds from the sale, along with the silent auction items, will all go to help out the Family Place and their programs and services.

Shortly after that, the Quota Club’s annual Carol Festival will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 1, at Grace United Church, with performances at 2 and 7 p.m., and the Parade of Lights will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5, going through the downtown area around 7 p.m.

Weyburn Tourism’s Sparkles Christmas lights display will also kick off on Dec. 2 and will be open for public viewing through December until Jan. 4, 2020.
